Grass cutting bribery weeded out

Anyone with information relating to unethical behaviour and bribery relating to grass cutting are still urged to contact the municipality or the SAPS, to assist with investigations.

Corruption poisoning the grass cutting schedule appears to be a thing of the past.

After an article earlier this month, Head of Parks, Recreation and Community Safety, Vish Govender confirmed there had been a halt in reports of residents bribing municipal workers to prioritise certain areas or cut private land.

He commented that services would survive through good and honest practices.

“People have responded positively; we must work with the community and preach on both the good and the bad.”
