Exploring the subconscious and conscious mind

Never hesitate to ask for ideas or even help, allowing for another opinion may bring up solutions to a matter that one may have been blinded to

David Allen took time out from his busy schedule to give a leadership talk at the Estcourt Hospice Association on Wednesday, April 30 at 8:30am and David taught the attendants the tricks of the trade.
Not the every day tricks that one may come across in the circus, but handy tricks that will help them get trough the day and assist when interacting with others.
Many of the attendants were people that others need on a day to day basis.
The attendants present were mostly nurses, whose duties are very demanding.
Knowing when to show empathy and when not to, is just one of the many lessons learnt after Mr Allen’s talk.
They are now equipped with tips on avoiding stress and how to deal with it if it may surface.
Did you know multitasking burns up more energy, the very energy the human body requires to get through the day?
Mr Allen questioned, as those gathered gave it thought.
The above mentioned was put to test and proved to be true by doing a few fun exercises and activities.
“Before casting judgements, take the time to place yourself in the next person’s shoes,” Mr Allen said as the attendants listened attentively.
Never hesitate to ask for ideas or even help, allowing for another opinion may bring up solutions to a matter that one may have been blinded to.
“The human’s attention span only lasts up to 20 minutes maximum so after every 20 minutes during a task take a break,” advised Mr Allen.
That way one will perform to the best of their ability, Mr Allen assured. A simple smile makes use of fewer muscles in the face compared to a frown.
A smile has a favourable influence upon others and makes one more approachable.
With that being said, the main highlight was to smile more often.
