Friday night – May 16: A braai will be held at the school hall. Tickets are R50 per person, which include entry, side dishes and braai facilities. Please bring your own meat and refreshments.
The school admin block will be open as well as the school building, so people can amble through at their leisure. The braai starts at 5pm and will end at midnight.
Saturday – May 17: DHS will be playing sport against Ladysmith High School, so sport will be on during the day. An entrance will be charged at the gate – R10 for outsiders.
Other than sport, the monthly Lennox Farm Market will take place in the bus shed. The first team rugby match is scheduled for 1pm. Before the game the school song will be sung, and Mr Haschke will give a speech.
After the final game people are welcome to go to the Airshow at the Dundee Airfield.
That evening Debbie Sharp has organised a bash at the Golf Club. The theme is ‘1984’. Food can be bought at R60 per person (curry) there will be a cash bar.
There will be a photo booth with some DHS ‘props’, as well as a remembrance corner for those who are no longer with us. At the braai, the matches and the Golf Club a stall will be available where various DHS memorabilia can be bought.
It promises to be a superb weekend that DHS hopes to make an annual event. This one is extra special, as DHS is a whole ‘130 years young’!
