Ladysmith Show: the best one yet

Ladysmith Show will be talked about for years to come

This year’s Ladysmith Show is all set to be the best ever – thanks to a line-up of top entertainment the likes of which has never been seen before at any show in Northern KZN.
They have decided to shake things up a bit and in keeping with the theme ‘Fast and Furious Fun’, the show kicks off on Thursday(May 15) and ends with an amazing DJ-inspired Bhangra Bash (a first for Ladysmith) on Saturday night (May 17).
For the young at heart, the show boasts the biggest funfair. Yes, they know it sounds like they’re boasting, but it is! There are too many rides to count and they’re the best rides around. They’re talking top-line rides used at both the Royal and Rand Show. So when They say nothing compares to the thrills and spills of our funfair, they mean it!
But that’s not all… Another first for any show in Northern KZN is the Max My Ride team, who will be doing ‘drifting’ and ‘spinning’ during six adrenaline-pumping shows throughout Saturday.
On Friday night, the show have stars such as Bobby van Jaarsveld and SA chart-topping all-girl band Blackbyrd to entertain you. Bobby’s latest album went double platinum two weeks after release, showing that he is one of SA’s leading male singing stars.
Also on the cards are Melanie Janse van Rensburg and Belinda Walker, both top acts in their own right.
Local entertainers ‘The Expectations’ will also be belting out hit songs on stage.
The big day, of course, is Saturday and they have spared no expense! There’s not only the adrenaline-pounding Max My Ride, but also local groups such as Prakash Orchestra and Spank performing.
The stage set will be completely changed during the day to create the perfect vibe for the Bhangra Bash in the evening, with some of South Africa’s top DJs performing.
The DJ Bhangra is another first for Ladysmith, as these acts have never performed in Northern KZN. The Bhangra will cater for young and old, heating up as the night goes on… Radio Lotus will broadcast live from the show.
“I want to thank the municipality, our many sponsors and the committee for putting together the show. We do this for you, the community!” says Show President Sean Mackintosh.
