Ichthus hockey stars shine at trials

On May 5 and 6 the U/12 and U/13 boys’ and girls’ hockey teams took part in the annual Endumeni trials at the Dundee Oval.
Seven learners, namely Bianca Meintjes (U/12), Preston Caldecott (U/12), Andrew Tiley (U/12), MacGreiger Stein (U/12), Drémar Jacobs (U/13), Tadiwa Chawanda (U/13) and Jan-Frederik van Zyl (U/13) made it through to the first round.
On May 8 these seven learners played their hearts out to attempt to secure their places in the Umzinyathi hockey teams.
We congratulate Bianca Meintjes (U/12), Preston Caldecott (U/12), Drémar Jacobs (U/13), Tadiwa Chawanda (U/13) and Jan-Frederik van Zyl (U/13), who were selected for Umzinyathi hockey teams.
The learners are absolutely delighted to be part of the teams, and they look forward to a hockey-filled weekend in Pietermaritzburg on May 24 and 25.

Anél de Goede deur na Nasionale ATKV Redenaars!
Op 12 April het Anél de Goede, Bianca Meintjes en Tiana Maritz (Graad 5) aan die NKZN-rondte van die jaarlikse ATKV-Redenaarskompetiesie deelgeneem.
Hulle het hulle baie goed van hulle taak gekwyt, en Anél is gekies om aan die KZN-rondte deel te neem.
Op 10 Mei het Anél dan die Graad 5 afdeling in KZN gewen, en dring sy na die nasionale rondte deur, wat op 14 Augustus in Buffelspoort gehou gaan word.
