A crossed shaped pillar stands to honour and remember those who have fallen during World War One and World War Two. This historic site consists of eight plaques with 77 names of soldiers on it.

“And Their Name Liveth For Evermore” is what’s imprinted on one of the plaques at the Weenen County War memorial on the corner Lorne of Harding streets.

This historic site consists of eight plaques with 77 names of soldiers on it.
The face of the first plaque reads: “To The Glory Of God And In Memory Of The Men Of Weenen Country Who Fell In The Great Wars between 1914 -1919 and 1939-1945.”
The Earl of Athlone, Governor General of the union unveiled the plaques on July 20, 1924.
It is still standing after 90 years to show gratitude to combats belonging to the Weenen War County.
