Three people have died and one is seriously injured after the car they were driving in went off the road and into a ditch.
The yellow Honda Elantra was found in the ditch after veering off the R103 near Ladysmith. It is believed that the car was travelling in the direction of Colenso at the time of the incident.
Emergency workers had to lift the car and Sharaj Ambulance Services used the jaws of life to cut the wreck open and remove the deceased from the vehicle.
It is believed that the occupants of the car belonged to one family, with both parents and one female child losing their lives.
Another female child is in a critical condition and has been transported to a nearby hospital.
