Keeping the wheels turning

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager Lawrence Underwood, safety is paramount and the workshop staff is kept busy ensuring all vehicles are well maintained

School news usually concentrates on the activities and achievements of the learners and the academic staff’s involvement.
Often forgotten, are those beyond the classroom, who keep the school running efficiently.
These include administrative and maintenance staff members.
Treverton Schools is no exception, and one group are those who literally keep “the wheels’ turning.”
The Operations Centre is responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the schools fleet of 20 vehicles, which cover an average 390 000 km on the roads each year!
This includes transporting learners to and from sporting and cultural events and excursions, transporting day scholars from Estcourt and Nottingham Road and ensuring boarders to medical appointments and airports as required.
Under the guidance of the Operations Manager Lawrence Underwood, safety is paramount and the workshop staff is kept busy ensuring all vehicles are well maintained.
In addition, they are also responsible for the maintenance of all mechanised machinery on campus.
