Thieves handicap golf club

Golf Club has been robbed over ten times over the past two years

The Correctional Services Golf Club is going about setting a record it does not want.
The clubhouse outside Glencoe is situated on prison property, but that does not mean it is ‘as safe as houses’. The club has been burgled eleven times in the past two years.
The latest break-in was last week, when thieves stole liquor, a DSTV decoder, DVD player and other goods. Police believe four men were involved in the theft. The possibility that the culprits are former prison inmates has not been ruled out. While the prison complex is well guarded, it appears as if there is an isolated area from which intruders are able to gain access and then break into the club.
Hopefully the police will be able to bring the thieves to book, and golf club members will be able to concentrate on making records on the course.
