Willem Boshoff Race, running in remembrance

Natal Spa was the place to be on Saturday, March 22. Runners gathered to pay tribute to the late Willem Boshoff, at a well organised marathon in his memory.

SATURDAY, March 22, was a great day for the Vryheid Athletics Club, as the Willem Boshoff race was run from Natal Spa.

The committee set everything up on Friday, with the assistance of Natal Spa employees.

The whole event turned out very well, from the sponsors, the water tables and marshalls, the weather and, of course, the participants.

There were just over 150 entries. Many out of towners commented on a well organized race in splendid surroundings.

Bongani was the first male in the 21km and Armstrong came in second. Ingrid was the first lady in the 42km and Elmarie was the first 10km walker.

Well done VAC members.

The committee worked well together to get this race off the ground, but there is always help and support needed from the community and surrounding community for which we, as a club, are very grateful.

The winning water table was Paulpietersburg Spar.
