GlenDee rugby tournament

The aim of the tournament was development of rugby at a junior level.

What else would you call it but a ‘GlenDee’ tournament, when Glencoe Primary and Dundee Junior worked hand-in-hand to host a very successful event?
It was the brainchild of Johan Curry and Lian van Rooyen that started the ball rolling. FC Bester of the NKZN Rugby Union was very impressed with the way it was put together, and it will form part of the tournament in 2015.
There were eight schools from all over that competed against each other. They stayed at the two different hostels of the host schools. The aim of the tournament was development of rugby at a junior level.

A special thank you goes to all the officials who were coaches, referees and helpers during the weekend, and also to those who prepared the food. Also, thank you to Charlene van Vuuren and her helpers for manning the tuckshop. They were also able to give every Man of the Match as well as every team a rugby ball, courtesy of Ismails’ Sports of Dundee. It was much appreciated by the boys.
