Refuse truck breaks down

After hearing what sounded like the refuse removal truck approaching homes, residents hurried outside with bin bags while in pajamas making sure all their dirt has been placed outside

Complaints have been made concerning the unreasonably late arrival of the refuse removal truck in the area of Colita.
Many of the residents have been asking whether there’s a particular reason as to why the refuse removal truck has been coming so late.
On Tuesday, February 4 the unexpected refuse truck pitched at exactly 7.30pm. Confused residents and their families ran with uncertainty in and out of their yards.
After hearing what sounded like the refuse removal truck approaching homes, residents hurried outside with bin bags while in pajamas making sure all their dirt has been placed outside.
Some of the residents working long hours decide to remove their refuse in the morning only to return and find that it had been ripped apart by the dogs.
Dirt in that condition doesn’t get collected.
Having to deal with the stench, which hangs in the air all day, is not only disgusting but also, very unhealthy. Umtshezi Municipal Manager Nonhlanhla Njoko said the reason for the delay on Tuesday was the breakdown of the refuse removal truck.
Ms Njoko would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused to the community residing at Colita.
