Seven year old murdered and buried in backyard

eMondlo detectives made a breakthrough last week when they arrested a man for allegedly killing his seven year old stepson, at his home in Emondlo.
The man was arrested in Gauteng on Friday, November 22 after the SAPS made a follow up on his whereabouts.
According to the SAPS, the man went to the eMondlo Police Station and reported his stepson missing on September 22 and a case was opened. Shortly after reporting the case, the man is said to have left for Gauteng.
After being questioned, the man is said to have admitted to killing the seven year old and took the police to his house in eMondlo where he pointed out a shallow grave where he had buried the child.
KZN Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Mmamonnye Ngobeni welcomed the arrest. She described the killing of the child as barbaric and uncalled for.
“We will continue to make sure that those who attack and abuse women and children will be caught and brought before our courts to face their wrongful acts.”
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
