Residents were fuming as water flooded Delhi Road this morning (Friday).
According to people living in the area, the pipe has been giving problems all week long. “It bursts, they fix it and in no time at all it’s broken again and water is wasting,” fumed one person. The pipe burst again in the early hours of this morning.
uThukela was contacted, but nothing has yet been done to sort out the problem.
Motorists and pedestrians had to do their best to avoid the ‘river’ in the road.
“This is clean, drinkable water that’s being wasted. You’d think it would be a top priority, not to mention fixing the problem properly the first time. We just hope the situation gets sorted out as soon as possible,” complained another resident.
