Car show extravaganza

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the shining mobiles that had everyone in awe

Some say it was the best car show extravaganza ever to be held in Estcourt, some say it was mind blowing and some say it was the show of all shows, whichever way you look at it, the Umtshezi Volleyball Club (UVC) sound competition, show and shine and family fun day lived up to expectation and much more.

If you were not there, you have unfortunately missed out on a spectacle of note.

UVC tried this type of fundraising event for the first time hoping to raise funds for the club and to provide much needed entertainment in Estcourt. They are very pleased with how the event unfolded and look forward to making this an annual event with bigger and better attractions. What started off as a slow, dull day quickly transpired to a frenetic bustling event, which had all in attendance overwhelmed and excited. We had entries from Ladysmith, Newcastle, Pietermaritzburg, as far as Durban and not to forget our local car enthusiasts.

We had approximately 450 people pass through the gates and 65 cars entering the sound competition and show and shine event.

The atmosphere can only be described as exhilarating and relaxed as people flocked to the viewing area to witness the SPL testing, then had the opportunity to view the spectacular cars on display.

Young and old were entertained with the children loving the kids corner, people buying sumptuous food from the various food stalls on hand and others buying items from the other stalls available.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the shining mobiles that had everyone in awe.

The revving of highly advanced and improved engines and obviously the thumping of bass during the SPL testing. We definitely hope to improve this annual event and make it an event that residents from Estcourt and surrounding towns look forward to.
