Mystery surrounds murder of Vryheid resident’s son

Luke Keshwar's body found days after being reported missing.

LUKE DUSTIN KESHWAR, 22, the son of local resident, Genevieve Naidoo and cousin of the beautiful Tatum Keshwar, Miss World Second Princess 2009, was reported missing after his mysterious disappearance in Midrand, Gauteng at the end of October.

Luke was last seen on October 31 at approximately 9:00pm, walking to Halfway House, according to a close family member. His whereabouts remained a mystery until November 5, when his lacerated body was discovered at Hillbrow Mortuary, by his grieving uncle, Hylton Keshwar.

Luke had suffered multiple stab wounds, possibly inflicted by what may have been a screwdriver or something of similar effect, to his neck and upper torso, as well as numerous defense wounds on his arms from allegedly trying to fend off his attacker.

Luke's jacket, shoes, cellphone and wallet were missing.

Genevieve has expressed her gratitude to the people of Vryheid for their compassion and support through this trying time, and said of her deceased son, “We will always hear his laughter roar across the sky. Gone with the twinkling of an eye, your beautiful smile trumpets our hearts. You will always be our sweet song, never to part.”

As yet no arrests have been made. Midrand police continue their investigation into this case and request that anyone who may have any information on the murder of Luke Keshwar contact Lt Colonel Basson at Midrand police on 011 347 1600.
