Chinese delegation visits Newcastle Municipality

A delegation from Zibo City, China, visited the Newcastle Municipality on Friday, November 22.

Being a sister city to Newcastle, the relationship between the two cities is one of mutual growth as representatives from the two cities meet on a regular basis to determine how they can assist each other for the benefit of their home cities.

Han Qingji, chairman of Zibo TAA Metal, explained this marked the 10th year that a delegation has paid Newcastle a visit and the establishment of a relationship between the two cities.

Since becoming sister cities, Mr Qingji said Zibo city has truly received positive support from local government, which has seen beneficial business growth.

The visit this year would see the delegation making time for mutual understanding, looking into the Newcastle environment (which was praised by the delegation), and to see companies make progress.

“Over the years, Newcastle has grown. The city has a beautiful environment and the municipality has given good service. What we have seen during our visit will be reported back to businesses in Zibo for future investments,” said Mr Qingji.

Ferdi Alberts, director of Economic Development , expressed his gratitude to delegation for their visit.

“We know the Zibo Government is urging for further investments and we are privileged that Newcastle was chosen.”

The meeting was concluded with an exchange of gifts between representatives.
