Farewell for retiring police officers

Sad goodbye to officers who have served so well in the line of duty over the years

A farewell function was held recently at the police canteen for Ladysmith officers who are retiring from the force.

Drapes were hung and tables beautifully decorated to set the scene for a sad goodbye to the officers who have served so well in the line of duty over the years. The retiring guests of honour were Warrant Officer ‘Speedy’ Shrinath, Warrant Officer Styne and Lieutenant Kheswa.

Colleagues who have worked with them had the opportunity to wish the officers well in their retirement. Heartfelt speeches were given, with many anecdotes bringing both a tear to the eye and a smile to the face.

Cool drinks and snacks were served, and everyone got to socialise and share a few nostalgic stories about putting the bad guys behind bars.
