On the road to safety

Reverend Nduli emphasised that although children have rights, these rights go hand-in-hand with responsibility. He promoted responsible behaviour for both pedestrians and passengers alike. Rules have been made to protect us and these rules should always be followed.

On Friday, November 8, Reverend Nduli, who was representing the Department of Transport, addressed Drakensview’s Foundation Phase learners.

He gave an informative presentation about road safety.

He emphasised that although children have rights, these rights go hand-in-hand with responsibility. He promoted responsible behaviour for both pedestrians and passengers alike. Rules have been made to protect us and these rules should always be followed.

Wearing light coloured clothing, or holding a newspaper in one’s hand while walking along the roadside after dark, will enable drivers to see pedestrians; walking on the correct side of the road; wearing seatbelts when travelling in a vehicle; were some of the road safety rules that he emphasised. The learners and educators would like to thank Rev Nduli for visiting them at their assembly.
