Cyclists among 20K at 947 Ride Joburg

The ride is of course 94,7 kilometres in length

Well done to everyone in Vryheid and surrounds, who took part in the 947 Ride Joburg road race on Sunday.
The ride is of course 94,7 kilometres in length. The race is a huge event which sees nearly 20 000 cyclists taking part, including many first-timers from the Vryheid area.
It was the 10th for local cyclist, Jabulani Xulu – congratulations!
Vryheid area cyclists taking part were: Rudolf Pretorius in an excellent time of 2:31:00, joined by Marie van Wyk and Hugo Paul (also from Paulpietersburg), plus More-Blessing Phiri, Martin Schoeman, Jabulani Xulu, Thabani Xaba, Paul Steffensen, Paul Marques and Pieter Muller from Vryheid.
“Congratulations to all finishers on a good ride on a warm day, and with a bit of a headwind. What a good way to end the cycling year.”
