All VAC athletes did very well.

Quite a few athletes ran their personal bests and there was also a few first-timers for the 21,1 kilometer and 42,2 km distances.

The heat was challenging throughout the morning, but all managed to finish strong and reach their own goals.

“It is an honour to be part of VAC ”

On Saturday, the 22km run started in cold weather and strong wind, with the bestof trails and spectacular views of the Drakensberg vley and mountain proteas in full bloom.

The 15km event on Sunday was a challenge, with mostly very technical single tracks taking runners to breathtaking parts of the escarpment.

“Well done to all the runners who finished this tough two-day trail run.”

On Sunday, 12 VAC runners took part in the well organised Soweto Marathon, half marathon and 10km race which took the runners through Soweto.

Athletes were greeted and motivated by friendly Soweto residents.
