Regent business school hosts informative breakfast

Themed, Dreaming of a sustainable and corruption-free South Africa, the purpose of the event was to introduce guests to Regent's plans for the future.

In the quest to enlighten people through education, Regent Business School held a business breakfast on Tuesday morning, July 25.

Themed, Dreaming of a sustainable and corruption-free South Africa, the purpose of the event was to introduce guests to Regent’s plans for the future.

The upcoming plans were unfolded by the guest speakers, Professor Dhiru Soni who is the director or Regent Business School, and Professor Anis Karodia, a senior member of the faculty and prolific researcher at Regent Business School.

Professor Karodia discussed the initiative, Honoris United Universities, which is the first African private education network, which is set to bring the leading tertiary institutions in Africa together.

This network of institutions will span across Tunisia, Morocco, Namibia, Zambia, Swaziland, Botswana, Mauritius, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

With the promise of Regent being a part of this merger, guests had much to look forward to in the development in education within Newcastle and South Africa as a whole.

Professor Soni discussed sustainability and business, with his emphasis being on how important it was to develop South Africa through self sustainability and the business sector.

Head of the local Regent Business School branch, Barbara Elliott’s speech was on the event’s theme, which focused on the importance of combating corruption in order for the country to reach its full potential.

The informative discussions and breakfast, left the guests with high hopes for the future.
