Bowled over by spring

A new committee will be announced for the year 2024/2025 during the Vryheid Bowling Club’s 97th annual general meeting

Vryheid Bowling Club hosted their 34th annual Spring Tournament on August 31 and September 1. With only six teams entering the competition, spring was greeted with lots of laughter and fun. Thank you to all the teams who travelled from afar to support the tournament.
The results are as follows:
Winners – Roz, Mathias, James and Pedro (Dundee);
Second – Greg, Jo-Ann, Rudie and Melanie (Dundee);
Third – Brokkies, Egon, Joan and Ronald (Dundee);
Fourth – Douglas, Michael, Philip and Cornel (Vryheid);
Fifth – Urcilla, Vicky, Jay and Donald (Dundee);
Sixth – Ronnie, Benita, Jenny and Brenda (Eshowe).
Congratulations to everyone!
The participants also had to predict the score between the Springboks and New Zealand on Saturday, with the closest prediction winning the pool. R200 was raised.
There was a tie between Greg Connolly and Philip Scheepers, predicting a 33-27 win for the Springboks. Congratulations!
A very big thank you to the sponsors for the food and prizes – without your support and sponsorship, this tournament would never have happened. And last but not least, a big thank you to the committee for working hard over the weekend. We couldn’t have made it without your assistance.
