Bongani receives athletic sponsorship

They give special support to runners in the form of supplements and running gear

Bongani Msimango’s spark for running ignited when he was 10 years old.
When he was 17, he started running as a junior for Vryheid Athletic Club.
Since then, he has completed 14 Comrades Marathons. This year, he finished in an astonishing time of 07:07, which saw him adding a silver medal to his collection.
He enjoys training for a specific race and in 2024 his training has gone according to plan. “I love running and it is an important part of my life,” smiled Bongani.
This year, he was offered a spot at Rainbow Running Club, which is based in Durban. The club consists of runners from all parts of the country. They give special support to runners in the form of supplements and running gear. “My heart is still with Vryheid Athletic Club, but I had to make a choice, taking into account the support Rainbow Running Club offered me. Thank you to all the people in Vryheid who support me. My big dream is to start a running school for children who are interested. I have so much experience I want to share and teach them,” he concluded.
