Rugby boys claim redemption at home game

The score? An astonishing 85 points to 0 in favour of Vryheid

This past weekend the Maroon Machine was too hot to handle as they secured their first pre-season friendly victory against the Pongola team.
There was an enormous improvement in every facet of Vryheids’ game. The scrums and line outs were vastly more successful than in the previous two games. The team played an expansive game, capitalising on the slower defensive structures of the Pongola team with each player doing their part in an almost flawless execution of the game plan. Standout players were plentiful, but Zilla got the nod for the forwards’ man of the match, and captain, Vic Foster, was deservedly named man of the match in the backline.

The score? An astonishing 85 points to 0 in favour of Vryheid. This is even more amazing considering that last year Vryheid won by the narrowest of margins against virtually the same Pongola team.
