Pigeon races from Pietersburg and Douglas

Both races were released at 07:00

Last Saturday (August 12), the open pigeons raced from Pietersburg (515km) and Douglas (596km).

The first pigeon from Pietersburg was clocked by Lewis Hay at 13:52, also clocking the next four pigeons. The winning pigeon flew an average speed of 75km/h.

From Douglas, the first pigeon was clocked by Rob Irons in Winterton at 14:16, 17 seconds ahead of the second pigeon clocked by Eric Holder Jnr in Bergville.

The first pigeon in Ladysmith was clocked by Lewis Hay at 14:42. Rob Irons achieved a 10th position in KZN. The winning pigeon flew an average speed of 78km/h.

Pietersburg Open (19 pigeons):
Lewis Hay: 1,2,3,4,5.
Emmanuel Maharaj (Weenen): 6,7,9,11,12.
Mark Maharaj (Weenen): 8,10.

Douglas Open (117 pigeons):
Rob Irons (Winterton): 1,16,19,29,21.
Eric Holder Jnr (Bergville): 2,3,5,6,11,13,14,23,27.
Lewis Hay: 4,7,9,12,15,18,25,26,29,30.
Emmanuel Maharaj (Weenen): 8,17.
Jimmy Hanlon: 10,22,24.
William Faurie: 28.

This weekend, the yearling races are racing from Middelburg (297km) and Dealesville (390km).
