Netball matches to welcome new teams

The uThukela District Netball Association recently held games to welcome the new teams and also to prepare for the new season.

The matches were played at the Ladysmith High School (LHS) grounds.

The teams that received a warm welcome included two local teams in the form of ‘Umhlumayo Wethu’ and ‘Ladysmith Avengers’.

There were also two teams from Estcourt, called ‘Steels’ and ‘Izishoshovu’.

A capacity-building and training programme is set to be held from March 17 to 19 before the season starts.

The players are also looking forward to the upcoming District Games, which will consist of 20 female teams and 10 male teams.
