Half-marathon challenges runners

Join the club on February 14 at 17:30 for their Valentine’s Race at Dee’s Restaurant

The Inkamana Half-Marathon took place on Saturday. Runners from Vryheid Athletic Club said the race was well planned and it was the perfect day for running. There were sponsors from well-known sporting shops and the prizes were great. Even though it was a difficult race with lots of uphill runs, the water tables were well organised with plenty of refreshments. The results are as follows:

10km: Izette Kruger – 1:01; Bongiwe Zulu – 1:02; Nana Mfaba – 1:15.

21.1km: Mcebiseni Msezani – 1:14; Melissa Scheepers – 1:50 (second place in the ladies’ division); Lincoln Noko – 1:53; Ntombifuthi Nkosi – 2:02 (third place in the ladies’ division); Cathy de Beer – 2:42 (first lady in the 60+ age category).

Join the club on February 14 at 17:30 for their Valentine’s Race at Dee’s Restaurant. The entry fee is R25 a person and you can enter the 2.5km or 5km run. Registration starts at 16:00. Medals will be awarded. There will be a lucky draw afterwards, as well as prizes for the first male and female in the 2.5km and 5km run.
