EHS honours academic achievers

Learners were congratulated for their dedication and diligence throughout the year

The Estcourt High School (EHS) family gathered today (January 27) to recognise excellence.

The school hosted its annual prize giving ceremony, which was well-attended by parents and guardians, learners and staff as well as guests.

Speakers included newly appointed Wembezi Senior Education Manager Mr Mlambo, principal Mr Diedrick, School Governing Body chairperson Mr Mkhize and guest speaker former EHS learner Dr Nadia Khanyile.

Each speaker emphasised the importance of being diligent in the classroom in order to achieve future goals.

In his Principal’s Report, Mr Diedrick said that EHS has produced five matric learners in the top ten in Estcourt. He described 2022 as an “excellent year” where learners excelled in various academics and extra-mural activities.

Guest Speaker Dr Khanyile congratulated the Class of 2022 and advised that the “journey is not over”.

She encouraged learners to follow their ambitions and even when they encounter hurdles, keep on going.

The highlight of the day was the prize giving ceremony.
