With KZN schools having a whopping 83% matric pass rate, KwaZulu-Natal has been listed as the most improved province. This is an increase of 6.2% from 2021.
The following are the schools we know of in our area that did extremely well, with at least five schools doing better than the provincial average – including three with a 100% pass rate.
Schools with a perfect pass rate:
Harvest High – 100%
Emhlwaneni High – 100%
Steadville Secondary – 100%
Those with an ‘above provincial’ pass rate:
Ladysmith High – 96%
Dr Joseph Shabalala – 83%
Those below provincial average:
Windsor Secondary – 80%
Endakane High – 81%
Ingula High – 80%
Qophindlela Secondary – 77%
Bhekintuthuko Secondary – 73%
Ekukhuleni High – 70%
Ladysmith Secondary – 67%
The top pupil in the Uthukela District is Asanda Ngcobo from Emhlwaneni High School, with eight A symbols.
Emhlwaneni High School’s Mr Mazibuko said they are very happy to have achieved a 100% pass rate, and the top achiever came from the very same school. He thanks all the stakeholders, including learners, teachers, parents and the School Governing Body for their commitment.
