A rainy start to the day did little to deter avid golfers from participating in the club sponsored competition hosted at the Newcastle Golf Club on Saturday.
“It never rains on the golf course,” said a few golfers quoting a saying that can be dated back to the 1940’s.
Moments later the rain came down even heavier.
It wasn’t long, however, before the clouds parted and bright sunshine provided a welcome respite for them to tee off.
