SEE: Locals support the ‘virtual’ Remembrance Walk

To pledge its continued support in the fight against cancer, the Estcourt Relay committee has decided to donate R5000 to CanSA and R5000 to the Estcourt Hospice Association

Dozens of locals were part of the 2020 virtual Remembrance Walk held yesterday (July 18).

Instead of the annual Relay for Life, the Cancer Association of South Africa (CanSA) hosted the virtual walk on Mandela Day.

Estcourtonians showed their support by walking in their premises or street. Event chairperson Anil Sookraj was pleased with the effort.

“Loved ones were remembered and celebrated, survivors were encouraged to fight on and prayers were offered to rid the world of cancer and Covid-19. The Estcourt Relay committee is grateful to local families, friends and Estcourt News who supported the event,” said Mr Sookraj.
