Leave No Girl Behind Initiative shows love to hospital patients

LNGBI chose the hospital for the project because of the sacrifices women made in their everyday lives.

The Leave No Girl Behind International (LNGBI) hosted its annual Valentine’s project last Thursday, joining learners from St Dominic’s Newcastle on a visit to the Newcastle Provincial Hospital.

The LNGBI girls moved from ward to ward and handed patients a rose and toys to brighten up their day.

Co-founder of LNGBI, Haseena Patel said LNGBI chose the hospital as its annual Valentine’s project because of the sacrifices women made in their everyday lives.

“Women are so busy taking care of others and fulfilling their responsibilities to those around them, they usually put themselves last. This is a way of making them feel special and loved at a trying time for them,” she said.

Hospital spokesperson, Sabelo Buthelezi accompanied founders of LNGBI and the learners as they made their way around the hospital.
