Panorama learners awarded for hard work at prize giving

Panorama's top academic achievers in Grade 12 for 2019 have been announced.

Panorama Combined School recently held its annual prize-giving ceremony, which recognised the school’s top achieving learners in culture, sport and academics.

Teacher, Lynette Lotriet coordinated the ceremony and Ria Klose, Lorieta van der Merwe and Patience Nkosi ensured the day went off without a hitch.

At the opening of the ceremony, national award-winning science teacher from Panorama, M.J. Nkosi and the Head of Panorama’s Language Department, Davy Ndarera were the Masters of Ceremony and kept the audiences captive. Thereafter, the Panorama Senior Choir entertained guests with beautiful song.

Panorama’s top achievers in Grade 12 for 2019 in the science field were Lusanda Mdhlalose and Thabo Zwane, who achieved 95 per cent and 91 per cent respectively for physical science, in the final 2019 NSC examination.

Lusanda wishes to pursue a career in astrophysics and Thabo actuarial science at the University of Witwatersrand. He was also Panorama’s DUX learner for 2019, achieving five distinctions in the final NSC examination. Thabo was a close second with four distinctions. He was Panorama’s top math achiever, with 88 per cent in the final NSC examination.

Nkanyiso Sibisi – Tourism Practical Assessment Task.
Lethukuthula Mdlalose – Math Literacy.
Thandolwethu Mathunjwa – Afrikaans First Additional Language; Accounting; English Home Language.
Kwanele Mavuso – IsiZulu Home Language.
Ntokozo Mabena – Geography.
Thuthukile Nkabinde – Business Studies; Accounting.
Olwethu Nkosi and Nhlanhla Vilakazi – Life Orientation.
Zamangwane Zamisa – Tourism.
Thabo Zwane – Mathematics.
Lusanda Mdhlalose – English First Additional Language; Life Sciences; Physical Sciences.
