Swimmers dive into the fight against polio

Polio is still a concern in some countries, with approximately 250 cases in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

A total of 55 swimmers took to the pool at Dundee High School last week, for the annual Rotary Swimarathon.

A total of ten donors, 14 Rotarians, seven Rotary Interactors and the ever-present Courier team helped turn the event into another huge success.

“R2 500 was collected for the Rotary International Fund and this will go towards eradicating polio,” said Rotary’s Jenny Thöle. “Polio is still a concern in some countries, with approximately 250 cases reported in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Rotary Dundee thanked everyone who participated and Dundee High for the use of its pool.
