Beauty queens crowned at Miss Newcastle Mall pageant

Young model hopefuls took part in the first annual Miss Newcastle Mall 2019, on October 26 at the mall.

Newcastle Mall Marketing Manager, Beulah Rajkumar said the competition was aimed at showcasing talent:

“We held a Miss Newcastle Mall pageant to give young women the opportunity to explore their talent and capabilities in the modelling world. We also wanted to open an opportunity for local girls to become a part of showcasing our fashion offering at the Newcastle Mall.”

The pageant winner, Asanda Mahlangu (16), a learner of Panorama High School, said she was grateful for being recognised with the winner’s crown:

“I am so happy and proud right now. Modelling is my passion and I’d like to take the career as far as I can. One day I see myself entering and winning the prestigious Miss South Africa title.

The winners were as follows:

Miss Newcastle Mall 2019 – Asanda Mahlangu. First princess – Talisha Andrews. Second princess – Rozalee Lazarus. Special prizes included: Miss Skill – Lethabo Moloi. Miss Confidence – Snethemba Mbatha. Miss Look – Cayla Gaud.
