‘Our hearts are gold and our blood is green’

A nail-biting match had fans at the edge of their seats.

The stars aligned for the Bokke, according to avid rugby fans.

They feel positive after the Springboks came out tops in the semi-final match against Wales in the Rugby World Cup on Sunday.

Local supporters predict the Springboks are in it to win it as in 2007 and will claim the team’s third Webb Ellis Trophy win this year.

A live screening of the semi-final took place at Thatchers Hall and Needles Bar, where Newcastillians patriotically watched the game in support of the team. A nail-biting match had fans at the edge of their seats.

Roaring cheers soon followed as the Boks scored its final try claiming victory by 19 points to 16. Supporters enjoyed a few cold ones while watching the game, and had much to celebrate at full-time.

A traditional potjie was on the menu for the day and fans look forward to the final Rugby World Cup match between the Springboks and England.

A live screening of the final match is scheduled to take place at The Pines on Saturday (November 2) at 11am.
