All aboard Flight 101 at Pendo Risen Son as school concert takes flight

After months of planning by the dedicated staff and management, the night had finally arrived and the children were keen to put on a show, displaying all the song and dance they had practiced in preparation for the event.

Excitement filled the air at Risen Son Academy on Friday evening as family members and friends gathered in the hall to enjoy an evening of talent and flair at the school concert.

After months of planning by the dedicated staff and management, the night had finally arrived and the children were keen to put on a show, displaying all the song and dance they had practiced in preparation for the event.

The theme of the concert was “Summer fun on Flight 101” and the pupils of Pendo Risen Son Academy danced to many different styles of music to showcase different cultures from around the globe, eventually ‘landing’ back in South Africa. After all, home is, as they say, where the heart is…

Principal of the school, Henrietta Barry thanked all the parents, as well as friends and family who attended and staff who contributed to making the event a success, for their support and commitment.

“We are also very excited to share with all of you that we will be extending our learning facilities to cater for high school students who would like to continue in our learning program or join us from grade 8 and upward,” she added. “Students will graduate with an IEB (NSC) in Grade 12.”
