Filidi orators buzz with pride after success at national spelling bee

These learners really did their school proud.

After learners of Filidi Senior Secondary School showed love and enthusiasm for the Spelling Bee and Public Speaking competition, the school entered them into the National Master Spelling Bee Competition 2019.

The categories were Melittidae (Grade 10 to 12) and Honey Bee (Grade 8 – 9).
Participants, Snethemba Hadebe (Grade 12B) Ramotsilisi Matsiditso (Grade 12B) and Zekhethelo Nkosi (Grade 8E) went on represent the school in the Regional Rounds early in June.
They exceeded expectations and won here too.

Learners then proceeded to compete at a provincial level on August 17, winning again and joining a group of six learners selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the National Competition on October 5.
S.C. Rapulana, Head Trainer of Speak Easy Debating and Public Speaking Committee said the town was rooting for them.
