200 children receive monthly donations from the Gift of the Givers Foundation

The orphaned and vulnerable children under the wing of the Ithembalethu Outreach Project have become accustomed to receiving a monthly food hamper.

For more than five months, the Gift of the Givers Foundation has been providing relief supplies (not limited to food parcels) to 200 children.

Sister Maureen Aron and her team of caregivers gather the children at Wembezi, Colita and Rensburgdrift each month, in anticipation of the donation. Last Saturday, the green Gift of the Givers truck heralded another distribution.

Each of the children received hearty food parcels which are designed to last a family of four for a month.
The parcels include maize meal, breakfast oats and other grocery essentials.

“Thank you so much for supporting us,” said Sister Maureen Aron when the distribution in Wembezi wrapped up.

The team then travelled to Rensburgdrift and Colita, where a further 40 and 30 food parcels were handed out respectively.
