A sense of excitement and little fear was felt upon entering the room.
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) had the target set at 19 and was left surprised by a whopping 104 learners who attended the blood donor clinic last Monday.
The SANBS team received such a brilliant response at the Estcourt Secondary School that not only did they work late on that day, but they also had to return to the school the following day to continue with the clinic.
64 new blood donors were warmly welcomed and 81 units of blood were collected. Principal Ms Jordan wishes to put out a challenge to all schools to beat their statistics; saying it is a great way to motivate learners to be a part of such a worthy cause.
Gleaming with excitement, Blood Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain said: “A huge thank you to the school, I look forward to other schools being as motivated as Estcourt Secondary School was. Your contribution is appreciated keep it up.”
