The the latest one took place at Wonderland School in Lennoxton on Sunday, where health awareness services such as cholesterol, sugar and blood pressure tests were offered to members of the community, free of charge.

A professional nurse administered BCO injections and a medical doctor was there to perform pap smears and breast examinations.

Because these services were free, a great many residents took advantage of this service, which was brought right to their doorsteps.

CANSA Newcastle volunteers also offered assistance in educating the attendees on the signs of cancer and the treatment that is available.

“It was a successful Wellness Day and we look forward to the next one,” said HPS management.
