Over the past long weekend there were quite a few members who enjoyed three days of golf at Dundee Country Club.
Saturday’s I.P.S. club competition attracted a field of 32 players on a cold and wet afternoon.
Winning the competition was M. Sithole who managed to count out W. Ackerman, with both players scoring 39 points.
J. Engelbrecht counted out R. Streak for them to finish in third and fourth place respectively on 38 points.
Only A. Mbatha on hole no.4 and M. Sithole on hole no.12 were able to record a 2 Club on the day. Sunday saw the semi-finals and finals of the men’s A and B division matchplay championships taking place. Joe Khumalo was crowned A division champion after beating Jurie Engelbrecht 3/2 in the final.
The B division final between S. Sithole and W. Ackerman turned out to be a closely contested affair with S. Sithole managing to win the match on the 18th hole.
The ladies matchplay champs were decided on Saturday afternoon, with Ronel Purchase beating Veronica Donaldson to win the B division and Jackie Le Grange beat Dolly Bradbury to win the C division.
On Monday, the club competition saw 28 players competing in the individual medal stableford format. Elaine Booysen playing in her first ever club competition, managed to count out Carl Donaldson, to win the day on 39 points.
Junior golfer, Danilo Ceronio finished in 3rd place on 38 points and Debbie Catlett finished forth on 37 points. Three players carded 2 clubs on the day, J. McKenzie on hole no.4, K. Donaldson on hole no.12 and D. Ceronio on hole no.16. Walter Du Plessis was able to win the jackpot scoring 11 jackpot points.
Flo-Tek will be holding their sponsored golf day this coming May 7, and golfers are requested to get their names down early as not to miss out on what promises to be a great day.
On Friday evening there is a Beer Pong competition taking place from 6pm and there will be soup and rolls as well as hot dogs for sale.
