Gideon Foundation – enriching minds

The only job you can get are the dreams you make possible...

A prestigious graduation ceremony was hosted by the Gideon Foundation after introducing a two-week computer literacy training for children aged between 10 and 15 years old.

A first of its kind, the computer training is free and caters for children from various schools including Glencoe Primary School (Violet), Uelzen Primary School, Biggarsberg Primary School and Glencoe Primary School.

After moving to Glencoe in 2013, Pastor Gideon Cebekhulu and Tim (a pillar of the church), started an umbrella body that aims to creating jobs and business opportunities in Glencoe. The Gideon Foundation consists of a laundry, an internet café and very soon, a driving school. Pastor Gideon assures the community that it is a community initiative, and not just for the church.

Another initiative offered by the foundation is water-saving products like a toilet water cistern that stays empty between flushes. This product uses less litres of water to flush the toilet.

Living in the age of information, it is vital that young minds are equipped for the world at large and that is what the parents of the young graduates and Gideon Foundation cherish the most.

Mrs Cheryl Du Plooy, the guest speaker, who has been teaching at Biggarsberg Primary School for 22 years, offered words of encouragement to the young minds, stating that people who are driven can never be stopped, ”
