Black Rock Casino hosted Lira’s ‘Herstory’ tour on November 8, for what can only be described as a flawless and powerful performance. Lira engaged the crowd with hits like ‘Feel Good’, ‘Xesha’, ‘Phakade’ and ‘All My Love’.
In keeping with the theme of the tour, Lira gave each song’s background by sharing some personal accounts of her life, such as her depression, meeting the love of her life (who she is now celebrating five years of marriage with) and finally her success and growth in the music industry as well as in her faith.
Her soulful and vibrant performance had the crowd enchanted right until the end, and she received a standing ovation, with people chanting “LIRA!”
Lira is both locally- and internationally-acclaimed for her ‘fusion of soul, funk, and elements of jazz and African’. She is a multi-platinum-selling and award-winning artist, and she was also invited to perform at Obama’s inauguration for his second and final term.
