Survivors fled across the Buffalo River and somehow managed to stave off wave after wave of Zulu attacks on the small Rorke’s Drift garrison – the battle of Rorke’s Drift is etched into British military history.
The re-enactment of the battle of Isandlwana will be held on Saturday, January 27. with many VIPS expected to attend. The Dundee Diehards and local Zulu warriors will again clash in the shadow of Isandlwana hill. The action is expected to start mid morning.
