Get your driver’s and learner’s licence before the year ends!

After this, you will need to attend driving lessons with a registered driving school or instructor until you (the applicant) are comfortable or competent enough to take the driver’s test.

Can you believe it is nearly the end of the year? How are those new year resolutions doing that you took on December 31?

If one resolution was to get a driver’s license there is still time!

Getting a driver’s license empowers a person immensely when it comes to applying for a job.  It also gives you more independence.

Whether you’re getting your learner’s licence or your driver’s licence, here’s what you need to do and what you need to have with you.

For your learner’s, the first step is to go to the nearest Driving Licensing Testing Centre (DLTC) to book a test date and confirm the booking.

You also need to state what licence you are booking for; this is done by means of codes based on the type of vehicle you will be driving.

After that, you will be sent to book and confirm your date and time of testing. You will also be required to pay the booking fee.

A learner’s licence is valid for 24 months.

When it comes to obtaining a driver’s licence, you would first have to pass your learner’s test.
