66 teams to do battle at Sarel Rugby Day

Sarel Cilliers rugby day, (play starts at 1.30pm on Friday and goes on right through to Saturday evening) will see 66 teams from around Northern KZN, the Free State and elsewhere taking to the field.

Sarel Cilliers rugby day, (play starts at 1.30pm on Friday and goes on right through to Saturday evening) will see 66 teams from around Northern KZN, the Free State and elsewhere taking to the field. Over 1500 players will be in action. A Sarel Old Boys team will take on a Sentraal team on Friday evening – should be great fun – while on Saturday, Dundee High will take on Ixopo High at 1.50pm and Sarel’s Blue Lions will take on Carel de Wet High from 5.20pm. The action will take place on three fields.
Sarel seëvier teen Greytown
Sarel Cilliers rugby begin met alle erns op 10 Februarie met wedstryde teen Greytown Hoërskool. The u/15s started the day with a bang and ran away comfortably with 27-0. The heat really made it a challenging day but the Blue Lions managed to persevere and played with lots of commitment and determination.
Die 0/16s het baie druk ervaar vroeg in die wedstryd en na ‘n klipharde stryd draf hulle van die veld af met ‘n 26-5 wen in Sarel se guns.
The 1st Team played with blistering pace and although early in the season, managed to win with a score of 40-8.
The season ahead is looking to be a really great one with lots of exciting rugby to be played.
Hokkie en Netbal
Die eerste hokkie meisies het twee wedstyrde gespeel en beide gewen. Sarel se eerste wedstryd was teen Greytown se tweede span waar hulle 4-1 gewen het. Daarna het hulle teen Greytown se 1ste span gespeel en 2-0 gewen. Die eerste netbalspan her 26-12 geseëvier.
Athletics
On Saturday Sandile Zitha participated in the Puma School Speed Trials. He won a silver medal for 110m hurdles and the school is immensely proud of him!
