Bomb scare at Boulevard Centre

The centre has been evacuated

Staff and shoppers at the Pick n Pay Boulevard Centre have been forced to vacate the area following a bomb threat.

The Clicks store received a call from a male caller to say there is a bomb in the centre

The centre, normally a busy place, was cleared in less than ten minutes.

Police are on scene and dogs from the Newcastle Dog Unit are scouring the shops.  The atmosphere is calm as shop employees wait patiently outside the Centre for the all clear.

Trudi van Wyk, manager of the Boulevard Centre, said everything was under control at the Centre, and was awaiting news from the police.
