Uelzen learns about sugar, sharks, skycars…

We left our bags there, hopped on the bus and went to Mitchell Park for lunch.

Grade 5 Tour to Durban
On Monday, July 31, we left from Dundee High School and we finally reached Durban. We went to the Environmental Centre and saw our dormitories. We left our bags there, hopped on the bus and went to Mitchell Park for lunch. We then went to the sugar terminal and learned how brown sugar and white sugar is made with black molasses. After that, we went to the Moses Mabhida Stadium and played at the People’s Park.
On Tuesday, we went to the Sharks Board.
We watched a video about sharks and learned how dangerous they can be.
We went outside and watched a shark being dissected. Then we went to Umhlanga Beach for a quick swim. We then headed to Crocodile Creek and saw lots of crocodiles. We also saw a big Mamba.
Then we headed to Galleria Mall to go ice-skating. It was lots of fun!!
On Wednesday morning we went to Ushaka Marine World. We saw lots of different kinds of beautiful fish. We also went to watch the dolphin show and it was really cool watching them jump up and down.
At the Umgeni Bird Park, we saw swans and we watched them swim. We also fed lorikeets. Then we went to Moses Mabhida Stadium to the skycar.
It was very scary!
At night we went to Gateway to watch Despicable Me 2, in 3D.
On Thursday we first went to the Pirate’s Beach for our last swim. Then we went to Pietermaritzburg and went to Butterflies for Africa. We went into the butterfly house and saw lots of fish and butterflies.
